Diwali Sale 2026: Dates, Bank Offers and Where to Shop

Updated 28 October 2026 (Flipkart Big Bang Diwali Sale added). Dhanteras is Friday, 6 November. Diwali is Sunday, 8 November.

Diwali is on Sunday, 8 November 2026, and Dhanteras on Friday, 6 November. The Diwali sale season opens with Amazon’s Great Indian Festival on 8 October and Flipkart’s Big Billion Days on 9 October (early access 8 October), and runs in phases until Diwali.

The two anchor sales are confirmed. Most of the rest follow a pattern from past years and get their official dates closer to the sale. We re-check every store on this page and stamp the update date above. Where a sale is marked “expected”, the dates come from past years and trade reports.

Myntra

Myntra’s Big Fashion Festival usually opens close to Flipkart’s sale, with Myntra Insider members getting in a day early. In 2023 it started on 7 October, with Insider early access on 6 October, over 6,000 brands and an extra 15% off with Myntra’s Kotak co-branded card. The 2026 dates had not been announced. Reliance Digital

Reliance Digital runs its “Festival of Electronics” before Diwali. In 2024 it ran from 28 October to 3 November with instant bank discounts of up to ₹15,000 on leading bank cards. For 2026 a 10% HDFC Bank card offer of up to ₹3,500 has been reported; check in store or on reliancedigital.in before you rely on it.

Nykaa

Nykaa’s Diwali sale is expected in late October. Its biggest beauty event, Pink Friday, usually comes in late November, so if you want luxury beauty at the deepest discount and it is not a Diwali gift, it can pay to wait.

JioMart and Meesho

JioMart’s festive sale is expected to run from mid October to Diwali, with its strength in groceries, gifting and home items rather than flagship phones. Meesho ran its Mega Blockbuster Sale in late September; its Diwali edition had not been dated.

Bank offers by store

A card offer is usually the biggest guaranteed saving in a Diwali sale. These are the offers confirmed or reported so far.

Every “10%” has a cap per card. Amazon and Flipkart had not published their 2026 caps; last year the Big Billion Days cap was ₹1,750 per card on a ₹5,000 minimum. On a ₹60,000 TV, a ₹1,750 cap is under 3%, so a 5% cashback card can do better. Work it out with our sale bank offer calculator.

What to buy when

Phones and electronics

The best phone and TV prices usually come with the big two sales in the first days of October, because the bank offer and exchange bonuses stack then. Popular models sell out at their best price. See our best phones by budget and laptop and TV deals.

TVs and large appliances

Compare Amazon and Flipkart with Reliance Digital and Croma, which include installation and sometimes old-appliance pickup. The cheapest listing can cost more once stand, pipes and installation are added. Our AC, fridge and washing machine guide has the models.

Clothes for Diwali

Buy ethnic wear early in October, while sizes and colours are in stock, and leave time for a return or exchange before the festival. Myntra and Ajio for brands, Meesho for budget ethnic wear. Ajio shows some prices “after coins”, so compare the checkout total, not the tag.

Gifts, sweets and dry fruits

JioMart and quick commerce apps in the last two weeks. Compare price per 100 g on hampers, and check best-before dates. Order anything that ships from far away at least three to four days before Diwali.

Dhanteras shopping: gold, silver and utensils

Dhanteras falls on Friday, 6 November 2026. It is the traditional day for buying gold, silver and utensils, and many people buy appliances and vehicles too. Festive gold offers usually cut making charges, not the gold rate. Before you pay:

• Check that the jewellery is hallmarked and enter its HUID in the “Verify HUID” feature of the BIS CARE app.
• Compare the per-gram rate with two other jewellers on the same day.
• Ask for making charges as a rupee amount on the bill.
• For coins bought online, check the seller, purity and whether it can be returned.

Delivery before Diwali

The big stores are adding capacity. Amazon says it offers same-day delivery on over 1 million products and next-day on over 4 million, with Amazon Now delivering in minutes in 65+ cities. Flipkart says it has added 750+ new pin codes, 14 million cubic feet of warehouse space and 1,200+ Flipkart Minutes centres across 150+ cities. Even so, the last week before Diwali is the busiest. If a gift must arrive by 8 November, order by 3 or 4 November and choose a seller fulfilled by the platform.

How to tell a real Diwali deal

The same product will be called “lowest price of the year” in three different sales between October and Diwali. Only its price history can tell you which one was true. Check what it sold for over the last few months, remove any offers you cannot use from the “effective price”, and read the bank cap at checkout. A simple Diwali sale plan

1. Now: make one list for the whole season, split by category: electronics, clothes, appliances, gifts.
2. Now to 15 October: the Amazon and Flipkart sales are live. Check your cards against the offers table, then buy electronics and phones if the price is a real low.
3. October: clothes and appliances as each store’s sale opens.
4. By 3 November: order all gifts that ship.
5. 6 November: Dhanteras purchases, with the HUID checked.
