Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card Review 2026: Worth It for the Sale?
Short answer

In October 2026 the Flipkart Axis Bank card is still a good card for Flipkart, Myntra and Cleartrip shoppers, and the sale makes it better: Flipkart and Axis offer up to 10% instant discount, and the card adds 5% cashback on Flipkart (7.5% on Myntra).

But each of those cashbacks is capped at about ₹4,000 a quarter, everything else earns only 1%, and lounge access has gone. Get it if most of your online spend is on Flipkart or Myntra. Skip it if you spend mainly elsewhere.

The Flipkart Axis Bank card is the card people ask about most before Big Billion Days. This is the October 2026 review: what it pays, what the caps really mean in rupees, what changed, and who should and should not apply. Banks change terms often, so confirm the figures on Axis Bank’s page and in the Flipkart app before you apply.

What the card pays

The card is built around Flipkart. As reported by cardholders and card pages, and matching the structure Axis Bank has used since 2025, it pays:

  • 5% cashback on Flipkart and Cleartrip, with a cap of about ₹4,000 per quarter for each.
  • 7.5% cashback on Myntra, with a cap of about ₹4,000 per quarter.
  • 4% on a short list of preferred merchants such as Swiggy, Uber, PVR and FITPASS.
  • 1% on everything else. It used to be 1.5%.

A welcome benefit of a ₹250 Flipkart voucher after the first transaction has been reported, but we could not confirm it on Axis Bank’s page, so treat it as a bonus, not a reason.

What the cap means in rupees

A cap of ₹4,000 a quarter sounds small until you work it out. The cap divides by the rate to give the spend at which you stop earning.

Where Rate Spend to reach ₹4,000 cap Per month if spread evenly
Flipkart or Cleartrip 5% ₹80,000 in a quarter About ₹26,700
Myntra 7.5% About ₹53,300 in a quarter About ₹17,800

So a household that spends ₹20,000 a month on Flipkart stays under the cap and earns the full 5%. A person who buys a ₹1,00,000 laptop in the sale hits the Flipkart cap for the quarter in one go: ₹4,000 is 4%, not 5%. The Myntra cap is reached sooner, which matters in the Myntra Big Fashion Festival that starts 8 October.

Using it in Big Billion Days 2026

Flipkart Big Billion Days 2026 starts on 9 October, with early access from 8 October for Flipkart Plus, Black and Flipkart card holders. PCQuest reports that Axis Bank and ICICI Bank are the bank partners, with up to 10% instant discount on their debit and credit cards. The 2026 caps and minimum order values were not published when we checked on 4 October, so use this example only as a guide.

Example: ₹30,000 phone on Flipkart Amount
Instant discount, assumed ₹1,750 cap (last year’s cap in our notes) ₹1,750
You pay ₹28,250
5% cashback on ₹28,250, assuming it is worked out on the amount you pay About ₹1,412
Total benefit About ₹3,162, or 10.5%

The cashback comes later, as a credit on your card statement, not at checkout. It also counts against your quarterly cap, so a ₹1,00,000 spend in one quarter uses most of it.

What changed over the years

Business Standard reported the December 2024 changes: the monthly interest rate rose from 3.6% to 3.75%, and 1% fees were added on wallet loads of ₹10,000 or more, fuel above ₹50,000, utility bills of ₹25,000 or more, education payments through third-party apps and online gaming of ₹10,000 or more. The cap of ₹1,500 per transaction on the 1% rent payment fee was removed, and cashback stopped on certain government service payments. Later changes reported by cardholders:

  • Other spends: 1.5% down to 1%.
  • Flipkart, Cleartrip and Myntra: high rates but quarterly caps.
  • Lounge access reduced, now removed.
  • Lifetime free offers stopped for most people, but first year free offers appear around Flipkart sales.

A ₹1,500 monthly cap that you may have read about belongs to a different Axis card (Fibe), not this one.

Fees and the first year free offer

The annual fee is ₹500 plus GST, which is about ₹590 at 18% GST. It is waived on ₹3,50,000 of yearly spend, which is a lot for most people. The simple test: you need to earn more than ₹590 a year in cashback to come out ahead. At 5% on Flipkart that is about ₹11,800 of Flipkart spend in a year.

Flipkart and Axis have offered the first year free to new applicants in sales. One source we read says this offer runs from 1 September to 31 October 2026, while an earlier note of ours said it ended on 30 September. We could not confirm which is right. Open the card offer in the Flipkart app and read the date before you apply.

Who should get it, and who should not

You are Verdict
A regular Flipkart and Myntra shopper Get it. 5% and 7.5% beat most cards, and the quarterly caps suit normal household spending
Planning one big sale purchase and little else Worth it if the first year is free. Cancel or downgrade if you do not use it
Spending mostly on Amazon Skip it. See our SBI Cashback vs Amazon Pay ICICI comparison
Wanting one card for all spends Skip it. 1% on the rest is weak, and SBI Cashback gives 5% online on many sites (cap ₹2,000 a month)
Wanting lounge access Skip it. Lounge access is gone

For everyday spending outside Flipkart, a card such as the SBI Cashback card or an Axis Ace-type card has usually done better. See the best credit cards guide and Axis Bank devaluation 2026 before you decide. You can also compare it with the other sale cards in the Big Billion Days and Great Indian Festival card guide.

Tips to get more from the card

  • Put Myntra and Flipkart orders on this card, and everything else on a different card.
  • Do not load wallets or pay rent with it. The 1% fees and exclusions eat the rewards.
  • Check your statement. Cashback should show as a credit. If it does not, ask Axis Bank to check it.
  • Pay the full bill every month. Interest of 3.75% a month cancels any cashback.
